The Northumbrian based Haydon Hunt has a rich history dating back to its first meet on 25th November 1809. That initial meet took place on the estate owned by the Earl of Derwentwater and the fox killed that day is stuffed and acts as a mark of the first hunt. It was some 75 years later that the Hunt organised their own race meeting on Saturday 21st June 1884.
